Saving faith or Indoctrination faith?

I’ve been reading a book that speaks about the love of God, and he asks the question, Do You Love Jesus Christ?

When you first ask yourself that question, right away you say to yourself, of course I do!

I grew up in church, I read the bible, sing gospel songs, pray, go to church gatherings etc etc.

All that is good and dandy, but do you love Jesus more than anything else in this world?

If you say yes, then what do you do for Christ to prove you love him more than anything in this world? I know, you go to church and read your bible and all those things I just listed.

But I’m afraid there are many who do that list, but they have never been born again, instead they have been indoctrinated into the faith.

This is what I mean by indoctrinated,  many kids grow up in church,  they sit there week after week, they know the bible stories, they know the songs,  they can recite verses and answer all the questions when asked.

But why is it,  when they get old enough to be on their own, many quit going to church?  Or if they do continue to go,  they have no desire or care to see people get saved?  Or if someone does get saved, they kind of shrug and say thats nice.

Wheres the passionate love for God?  Wheres the drive to see souls saved or for the church to grow?  Wheres the tears over sin?

Why is it when you go into a church its so cold toward you and if your a visitor, it doesn’t matter if you come back or not?

I believe its because many have been indoctrinated or Christianised into the faith,  they know everything about being a Christian, but they personally have never had a saving experience with Jesus Christ that saved their soul.

I’m convinced that if the rapture was to occur today, that every church would be open the following Sunday, perhaps (and hopefully) a few less, but opened just the same.

We need to ask ourselves, am I truly saved?

You should know when you asked forgiveness for your sin and received Christ, you might not know the exact time or day, but if you can’t recall it, you better examine why not?

If you don’t have a passion for Christ or for his people, if you don’t love God more than anything else, then perhaps your one who has been indoctrinated and not born into the faith.

Take some time to examine your relationship with Christ, are you one of his children, or are you in his house but your only renting?

God is Still God!

Well here we are in 2010, when I was younger I always thought I would die at a young age, I even had dreams that I would never be old, I’m not sure why I thought such a thing, but I did, but here I am in my 50′s.

Its funny though, I was telling everyone I was 50 and my wife told me, your 51 !!!  I had forgot that I turned a year older, it was disheartening to find out I was older!

When I was a kid, the year of 2010 seemed like something that was so far away and unattainable, that was a time that we were suppose to have phones with no lines, computers that would do everything and all sorts of unimaginable things.

Well guess what?  Here I sit with a computer in my lap listening to an ipod that has hundreds of songs that is the size of a credit card, with my cell phone next to me!!!

I’m technologically advanced in the year of 2010!!!!

Things that we were told would happen, I’m now using, it is an amazing thing and I’m thankful that I’ve been around long enough to see it.

But some things never change no matter how many years go by, our daughter in law is having our first grandson, birth is still birth, although the ways of how one can get pregnant have changed, but no matter what, you still need a man!

The world still goes through seasons, and times of global warming and global cooling, thats how God created it and someday Al Gore and all his followers might get it (but I wouldn’t hold my breath).

God is still God and he began a plan thousands of years ago and he is sticking to it, and its never changed.

I’m so thankful that our God doesn’t change, no matter how many years go by, he’s still the same God and his plan was and still is that you and I need a Saviour  in order to enter heaven.

He planned to send his Son Jesus Christ to a world that had rejected him and who had decided to follow Satan, and God said I have a way to me and we can have a way to heaven for eternity and that was by accepting his son Jesus.

Ask forgiveness of  following Satan and turning to Gods son who will cleanse us from our sin of rejecting God and he will forgive and guarantee us a place in heaven.

The world tries to tell us that God has changed, that all you have to be is baptized, or a member of a church or do good deeds.

Sorry, our God has never deviated from his plan, we’re born in sin, we’re sinners who need a Saviour, theres no other way.

God knew about computers, ipods and cell phones back when man was still throwing rocks at their dinner, and he would never change no matter how life on earth would change, sin and sinners still need Jesus Christ.

God said, he would give us his bible to show us how to get to heaven,  he would send prophets in the Old Testament, he would set up his church with MEN as pastors who were heterosexual, not women or gays to lead his church, his plan has never changed.

Man thinks they can change Gods plan, and he laughs at our foolishness and says I am God and I never change, you need to change from a heart full of sin and accept my plan, period.

God is still God, he never changes, his plan has never changed from day one.

Accept it, and stop trying to change it, its futile.

When you accept this fact, and accept his plan, is when you will find peace and have joy in your heart.

God bless us in the year 2010

Following God

Hello World,

one of the greatest joys I had was to pastor 4 churches in Michigan. We were truly called to our first church in Beulah. we began there with only 20 people, but they were so sweet and God was really blessing us.  Sometimes God is doing a work that we just don’t see. Theres reasons for it, one might be we’re not walking with him as close as we should be, or we are looking too much to our own selves instead of seeking Gods direction, or it may be that we’re getting such a fat head thinking we’re great and start thinking that we should be used for bigger and better things. Such was my case, I kept hearing what a great preacher I was and that I should be in a big church.

I started listening to them,  instead of listening to the Lord and opening my eyes to what he was doing.  Since then my wife and I have met some great people and we’re thankful for them, but 17 years later, I,m driving an expeditor van and out of the ministry.

Its so important to open our eyes and see what God is doing, how he’s blessing otherwise, our choices may take you in a direction that you may regret you walked in.

But something important that I’ve learned is, even when your at a place, you don’t really want to be in, God won’t abandon you. Keep holding onto Jesus,  walk with him, obey him, and he’ll bring you opportunities and care for you in ways you never knew.

Although I didn’t follow in the direction that God wanted for me, he still taught me things in the direction that I chose to go.  For instance: if I hadn’t made some of the choices that I did, perhaps we might have never led some of the folks to the Lord that we met over the years. Perhaps we wouldn’t have made the friendships that we’ve made.

Although I know I’m not in the place where God wanted me, he can still use us where we are, this might not make sense to you, but it does to me.

God knew the direction I was going before I got there, and he said alright, since your still loving me and I’m loving you, you can go your way and I’ll still watch out for you.

The key is, are you faithful and following the Lord?

Are you still loving God?  Are you Faithful?
